Zachary Merrett is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Inititally drafted to Essendon, Merrett is a three-time All-Australian and seven-time Crichton Medallist; he also won the Yiooken Award in 2023 and the Anzac Medal in 2024. Merrett served as Essendon captain from 2023 to 2025.
