Privacy policy

The short version

No accounts, no tracking cookies, no analytics, no ads, and we never sell or share your information. If you only read stats, we don't store anything about you. If you join the chat or edit the Fan Wiki, we keep the username you pick, what you post, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address so the moderators can stop spam and abuse.

What we collect and why

WhatWhy
Username you chooseTo show who posted in chat and the Fan Wiki.
Chat messages and Fan Wiki edits, with the timeTo show them to other visitors and keep the wiki's history.
A random ID stored in your browserTo remember your username on this device. It isn't linked to your name or email.
A one-way hash of your IP addressTo enforce spam limits, mutes and bans. We don't store your actual IP address.
Moderation records (warnings, mutes, bans)To keep the chat safe.
Anything you send through the contact form (and your email, if you choose to give it)To deal with your request and reply to you.

Your browser also stores a few settings on your own device (for example your table sorting and whether the chat was open). They never leave your device.

Who can see it

Usernames, chat messages and Fan Wiki edits are public on the site. Everything else is seen only by the site's administrator. We don't sell, rent or trade personal information, and we don't use it for marketing.

Where it's kept, and overseas

The site and its data are kept on a server in Australia. Visitors reach the site through Cloudflare, a United States company that protects it from attacks and delivers pages quickly. Cloudflare handles your IP address and basic request details to do this, and may process them outside Australia (including the United States), under its own privacy policy. Cloudflare doesn't receive your chat messages to use for its own purposes. Player photos are loaded from Wikimedia (in the United States), so when a player page shows a photo, your browser connects to Wikimedia, which can see your IP address under its own privacy policy. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add other providers in future, we'll update this page first.

How long we keep it, and security

Chat messages, Fan Wiki edits and usernames are kept until you ask us to delete them or a moderator removes them. Contact requests are kept while we deal with them. Backups are kept for a limited time and then overwritten. We protect the data with access controls, a secret administrator code and standard web security measures. If a data breach ever put you at risk of serious harm, we would tell you where we can and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you (for example all your chat messages and wiki edits) using the contact form. Tell us your username. We'll respond within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we'll try to fix it. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Age

The chat and Fan Wiki are for people aged 16 and over. Anyone can read the stats. If you believe someone under 16 has posted, please let us know and we'll remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update this page and the date at the top.
